So after an extended sabbatical I’m soon to be headed back in the book game. This will be out March 24. Can’t wait to talk about it more as the time nears but I’ll say this for now: I think it’s a pretty fun read, even if you’re not a #Yankees fan.

Column: Anthony J. Causi was gifted, gregarious and owner of one of the grandest hearts many of us will ever know. That heart was stilled Sunday. His impact, and his many kindnesses, will last forever.

Rick Carlisle standing up for the honor of small markets like Indianapolis (pop 880,000) getting steamrolled by the NBA would have a lot more credibility if Oklahoma City (pop 694,000 and Minneapolis (425,000) aren’t 11-0.

In an era of rampant stupidity, ESPN taking an Asian announcer named Robert Lee off a Virginia football game may be the dumbest idea ever.

The #Mets declaring war on their own fans is a plot twist I didn’t see coming. What a complete clown show.

This might be the greatest statement a team has ever released. Good for you, @NYRangers.

George Steinbrenner was going to retire 31 as a let-bygones-be-bygones gesture when Dave Winfield made the HOF in 2001. When Winfield decided to go in as a Padre, the Boss rescinded the decision. Fifteen NYY #31s later, it belongs to Cam Schlittler now. #Yankees

Just one man’s opinion but that’s almost certainly the greatest game in #Mets regular season history. And probably belongs in no particular order alongside Game 6 1986 NLCS and Game 6 of the ‘86 World Series in the top three games in team history.

Sad, sad news. My friend and former Post colleague Jay Greenberg has passed away at age 71. Jay was one of the great gentlemen of the press box and never, ever lost his love of the job, or of sports, and he adored his family. Godspeed, Jay.

An unimportant observation: why is it so hard for sports networks to realize than when it comes to re-broadcasting games, older is almost always better? I can’t be alone in preferring to re-watch games that took place 30 and 40 years ago as opposed to two months ago, am I?

Adam Gase is very bad at his job. #jets

It’s worth repeating: The #Jets may have been poorly coached under Robert Saleh. They are un-coached under Jeff Ullbrich. Nice job, Woody.

Mookie Wilson on Bill Buckner: “I was saddened to hear about Bill’s death. We had developed a friendship that lasted well over 30 years. I felt badly for some of the things he went through. Bill was a great great baseball player whose legacy should not be defined by one play.”

Vac’s Whacks: meet Ricky Cobb. You may not know the name but you know his work — @Super70sSports — which is only the single-greatest thing about Twitter. If not the whole Internet.
