This is SO bad. Until/unless you’ve cared for a loved one with dementia you have no idea the nightmare that’s coming down the pike. Society doesn’t have the will or the resources to care for our dementia sufferers now, let alone in much larger numbers.

So, I just learned my dog groomer (young, healthy 30ish & a mum) who caught covid c. 6 weeks ago isn’t recovering at all and now can’t work anymore. Can someone please explain to me how the pandemic is over?

Do the new C19 variants cause vomiting? Doing a long highway drive today and have seen at least 6 cars stopped on the roadside w/ ppl throwing up. Never seen anything like it.

Erm, I’m sorry but what?? I’ve been alive for a half a century and can safely say that, before covid, kids were not sick 50% of the year with viruses 🤦‍♀️ Are we seriously supposed to believe that kids should be sick 1/2 of every month? 🥴

So, I was today years old when I learned my 80+ y/o mother w/ congestive heart failure & damaged lungs/oxygen tank is leaving tomorrow for a 3 wk cruise out of Miami. Please make it make sense!

A long 🧵 It seems a lot of us who are still C19 careful are feeling abandoned & alone. I know I feel that way. It’s an impossible task trying to keep my CEV DH safe while also affording our 7 yo some semblance of a childhood. It’s a circle that can’t be squared 1/x

I love the nonchalant “typical summer wave” comment. I mean, before SARS2 when has summer EVER been peak season for an airborne vascular & organ damaging virus (let alone one that’s being falsely presented as a simple respiratory infection)??

Anyone have advice on how to handle a situation where a classmate comes up & purposefully breathes in the face of your masking 7 yo (due to her CEV father) as she’s changing her mask? I’m so sick of ppl. It’s like pushing water uphill at his point & the school doesn’t give a sh*t

Got my 1st “I think you were right about covid” from a friend in the UK today. She’s had it 7x (yes, 7). Fully vaxxed & quite relaxed (she thought I was slightly neurotic to still be masking). Said she’s been sick literally every other week now for 2 months. Makes me so sad 😔

For the love of god 🤦🏼‍♀️ Lockdowns weren’t some sort of forced sensory deprivation chamber. Kids still played together & explored outside, did virtual learning & continuously interacted with parents & siblings

Do you ever feel like you just can’t keep doing the risk calculus anymore? I mean, the most banal decisions now take on this immense weight (esp now that we have no meaningful data). How do you give young kids a life? It’s so exhausting to be a CV/CEV family/person at this point
