Police responded to CF Masonville Place at approximately 1:25 p.m., today, after a noxious substance was deployed inside a retail store and items were stolen by suspects. As a precaution, a portion of the mall was evacuated. At least two employees sustained minor injuries.

Fires crews responded to a report of smoke on the fourth floor in the 1200 block of Richmond Street. Fire crews have determined that it was a belt issue on a laundry machine. Crews are ventilating and everyone should be allowed back in their apartments soon. #ldnont ^cs

Crews are on scene to a working townhome complex in the city’s north end. Heavy fire was showing on multiple units on arrival at this townhouse complex, firefighters acted quickly to knock down the fire and successfully limit the extension to the adjacent units. Excellent work

Incident final update: there was no one home at the time of this fire. Damage estimated at $150,000. Fire Investigators are on scene to determine origin, cause, and circumstance. The LFD reminds all if you suspect a fire, see smoke always call 911 never our general office number.
