The golxob is a large, double-sided dagger or short sword with a curved metal blade, commonly used throughout Somali territories. Often worn with a belt and secured in a leather scabbard, this weapon is also known as a gile in Afar and is popular in the Somali Horn and Eritrea

The koor, a carved bell, was used by nomads to keep track of their camels ensuring that people and livestock were never far apart. Like the koor, we aim to resonate with the Somali community & serve as a guiding sound that reconnects individuals with their cultural inheritance.

The Koor team consists of Asha Noor, Aziz Farah, Idel Rasheed, and Ibrahim Hirsi, each with deep roots in cultural work. Over the past few years, both individually and collectively, they have launched initiatives dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Somali culture.
