Today marks The Return of the King. Stephen King is back on the show and we talk about damn near everything. Talisman 3, Never Flinch, Spielberg, Lynch, Maximum Overdrive, Tabby, Flanagan, Dark Tower, Corn, you name it.
Vespe here. Wampler usually handled the Kingcast feed because he knew how to speak Twitter smartass better than anyone on Earth. I feel a little like I’m trespassing, infringing on his turf, but wanted to say a few things.
I’ll have more info for y’all as soon as I can, but know he was proud of the quality of listener the show attracted and appreciated each and every one of you. Okay, maybe not everyone but almost everyone. You know who you are.
Scott may have reached the clearing at the end of the path way sooner than he should have, and I can’t help but feel a little angry about that, but I know he’d be the first to tell us to stop crying and crank up some NIN and flip off a cop or something instead.
This week on THE KINGCAST, Oscar-winner @RealGDT joins us for a rollicking conversation about IT, which King novel he wants to adapt, what's going on with AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS, and what we can expect from his latest, NIGHTMARE ALLEY!
Available everywhere this Wednesday.
First, the outpouring of love for Pop Pop has been a delight. I’ve had many tearful chuckles tonight reading just how impactful his mischievous sense of humor was and revisiting some of his best articles, tweets, and, well, Wamplerisms.
My life was forever changed when he agreed to do this weird little podcast about Stephen King’s work with me and I’ll be grateful for that working relationship for the rest of my life. The chaos he brought to the show is something only he could pull off.
The Kingcast will continue on in some form. What that looks like, I don’t know yet, but we have a few more episodes banked, so this won’t be the last of his voice you’ll hear.
Our pals at @TitanBooks sent us 3 copies of Stephen King’s LATER (hitting stores on March 2nd). One for each of us, and one of one of you.
So, let’s do this: respond to this tweet with the first King novel that ever gave you nightmares. We’ll pick a winner at random on Monday!
SURPRISE: This October, we're bringing THE KINGCAST to Bangor, Maine and we're bringing @flanaganfilm and @k8siegel with us.
A Stephen King tour! A live recording! An exclusive poster! Other fun things! Tickets and further details will be along next week, gang. #BangerInBangor
