Today an employee sent a tweet from @SCKansasKDOT. The tweet has been deleted as it does not reflect the views of KDOT or the Administration and was an unacceptable use of state communication tools. The person who sent the tweet is no longer an employee of KDOT.

for all the folks informing us we should have the roads open already, here is what your crews are STILL dealing with. The roads get opened when it's safe, not when it's convenient. Thank you for your patience, and be nice!

Earlier this month, during a period of four days, there were six crashes. Seven lives were lost — all were not wearing seat belts. We urge everyone to be safe. Take the seconds to buckle up and encourage those you love to do the same. Seat belts save lives.

We wanted to take a moment to thank our important partners, the Truckers who help keep our grocery stores stocked, and commerce moving. You do an incredible job and we are grateful for you. KDOT remains committed to keeping our highways open and Kansas moving. #togetherusall

A total of FIVE snow plows were hit in KC in less than 24 hours. No one injured, but trucks out of commission slow our efforts. And more snow/ice is predicted later today in parts of the state. Please stay back and pay attention. We can’t help you if you don’t help us. #kswx

We share this photo a lot, but we are still seeing people driving in the rain without their headlights on. If your wipers are on, your headlights should be as well. #WipersonHeadlightsOn It's #kansas law.

From Gov. Laura Kelly: “My heart is breaking for the family of this dedicated KDOT employee. Our KDOT personnel work very hard to make our roads safer for their fellow Kansas citizens. My thoughts are with his family, friends and the entire KDOT family at this devastating time.”

There were so many @kshighwaypatrol #troopers who received their own cars yesterday that they needed our bucket truck to help lift the photographer to get their pics. #Partnership #WorkingTogether #BestFriends #FridayFeeling #Congrats @TrooperBen @TrooperTodKHP @TroopCandiceKHP
