The people of @brotherjones_ and @Justinjpearson’s districts were disenfranchised today. I’m proud that Metro Council is meeting Monday to fill the vacancy left in Nashville by today’s vote, & I believe they’ll send @brotherjones_ right back to continue serving his constituents.

Nashville is hurting, and our community has been devastated. My heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones. Be sure to lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need, and let's come together as a community once more. Together, we will get through this and come out stronger.

I’ve signed a letter of intent with @BMSupdates to renovate @FGSpeedway and bring @NASCAR back to Nashville. The business terms of this LOI protect Nashville, with multiple revenue streams to make this a financial success. We will put this landmark back on the national stage.

To protect Nashvillians and slow #COVID19, I’ve announced a 14-day Safer at Home Order. I'm asking you to please stay in your home, except to go out for essential needs. Following the actions taken already this week, this is the next step to protect our community.

This home town hero just won the World Series – and Nashville’s heart. He’s donated protective equipment; sent lunch to hospital employees; and surprised folks with free groceries during the pandemic. Here’s to @mookiebetts, Nashville’s Community Hero of the Week.

The will of the people matters. Thank you, @VP for coming to Nashville and being part of a movement to stand up for democracy and push for common sense gun laws.

This afternoon’s rally for George Floyd and racial justice was peaceful. I attended and listened. We cannot let today’s message of reform descend into further violence. If you mean our city harm, go home.

Meeting the challenge by @BarackObama to all mayors, this morning I signed the 4-part pledge from the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance to review @MNPDNashville’s use-of-force policies and commit to any necessary reforms. I invite all Tennessee mayors to join me in taking the pledge

There will be no citywide curfew tonight in Nashville. Yesterday’s peaceful demonstration on the steps of the State Capitol honored our city’s history of non-violent social change. First responders will maintain a presence to protect residents and property.
