I am heartbroken to announce @ScottFightsALS passed early this morning. He fought until the very end and ultimately won the battle against ALS. We have lost one of the most incredible people to walk this earth and I’m shattered. Till death do us part was not nearly long enough.

I held Scott’s hand as he took his last breath. Felt his pulse weaken and hand turn cold. I consider it the highest honor to have been by his side while he passed. But also a curse. The trauma from it will never leave me. But I would do it all over again for him. ❤️ #EndALS

We are really missing this guy today. The girls and I spent the morning watching videos of him. He was the most phenomenal dad. I am thinking of everyone who is missing their dad today and sending you lots of big hugs. #HappyFathersDay

Scott has been feeling under the weather the past few days. Running tests now to get more answers. This morning, our almost 3 year old handed him a flower and said “This will make you feel better Daddy!” How does one’s heart swell and break at the same time? 💔 #endALS #fuckALS

While this was a very difficult step for us, it has also been a blessing. I was shocked by the amount of help hospice has offered us. We found a company that had more experience with ALS than some neurologists we have seen. It’s a scary word, but one I recommend to anyone.

.@JamieLW8 & I have decided to accept in-home hospice services. My health took a turn for the worse and we needed to shift goals. This doesn’t mean I plan on dying in the near future. Some stay on #hospice long term. But I’m feeling the full weight of #ALS and could use some ❤️

A wonderful & talented ALS caregiver made this portrait of Scott & I. Incredible, right? And it came just in time for our anniversary. 6 years ago today was one of the happiest days of my life and today I’m choosing to be grateful Scott gave me such an amazing gift. ❤️ 8.26.17

The last several months of Scott's life, along with afterwards have been devastating for me and led me to a loss of words most times. I hope the #ALS community knows I am still here & still fighting for them. I just have to figure out this tricky thing called grief (and PTSD)...

I had the time of my life at our wedding, along with too many mimosas and ouzo shots. Which resulted in my groom carrying me out of our reception at the end of then night. And the man still stuck it out with me. Only fair I stick it out through ALS too. Love you baby. ♥️ #5years

When everyone left, Scott sat outside, overwhelmed with love. It’s been a while since I’ve seen him content with his thoughts, basking in the sun. Something so simple and it completely made our day.

My world just got a little bigger with the help from my #friends. Some I haven’t even seen since high school! They assembled this amazing #ramp in my backyard. Now I can play with Iris! What an overwhelming act of #love. ❤️❤️❤️ #FlexOnALS #endALS #wheelchairramp
