    It is now time to learn to live with Covid-19, not keep hiding from it. Our schools, businesses, offices, shops and transport hubs must all comprehensively re-open to avoid further economic catastrophe.

    When a country’s economy shrinks for two quarters in a row (six months) the change is classified as a recession In the UK, in January to March UK GDP fell by 2.2%, while between April and June it fell by 20.4% This is the largest contraction on record bbc.in/Recession

    As we look beyond Lockdown 2, pragmatism is needed. Draconian restrictions cannot be imposed on low infection areas and we must get back to normal. A viable vaccine will be magic but we also need to learn to live alongside the virus as best we can to preserve our jobs and sanity

    A bizarre admission from @metpoliceuk which effectively condones poor behaviour. The Desecration of War Memorials Bill became law in 2022 and there are other powers too, inc. outraging public decency, breaching the peace, and public order offences. Please get a grip! @SadiqKhan

    It’s deeply disrespectful to climb on a war memorial, but there’s no law making it illegal. In the absence of a law officers cannot automatically arrest, but they can intervene & make it clear the behaviour isn't acceptable. That’s what they are seen doing here in this video.

    Incredulous that the EU still wants to penalise the UK. So bring on the Internal Markets Bill. We must deliver Brexit, honour the Good Friday Agreement, support internal trade and protect the Union. The British people elected us to do the job properly and we will not flinch 🇬🇧
