The thing I love about this 1972 George McGovern pin is that fifty years later no modern Democrat would dare replicate it.

The Democratic Party supports the war in Ukraine more than any political party has supported any other war in American history. Not A SINGLE ELECTED DEMOCRAT has voted/counseled against U.S. intervention there! Zero! This breathtaking fact cannot be overlooked or disregarded.

Who should the American people trust more on foreign policy? A) a comedian like @ComicDaveSmith B) Hussein Ibish, whose employer is primarily funded by the governments of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and who has close ties with Raytheon and Lockheed Martin?
This is why comics should avoid commenting on international relations (though he’s right about it being popular).

"Even though you were only four years old in 1939, do you think you would have been an America Firster before World War II?" "Absolutely," says @RonPaul.

Not only is the antiwar right objectively influential, but the antiwar left ~ doesn’t exist ~ in any form I’m able to identify. 🧵

It’s saying there’s a difference between McGovern and Richard Nixon as obvious as the difference between boys and girls. And now in 2022 is means something a whole lot different!

I think it’s less about the argument—which Adam rabbled through teary eyes—but his display of genuine vulnerability and raw emotion, which Torres not only seemed unwilling to engage with, but wholly unable to comprehend. Torres’ alien reaction to human empathy is what’s striking.

If your family and friends in Missouri are living in daily fear of an Iranian nuclear weapons program that doesn’t exist and Iranian missiles that can’t reach them, they’re suffering from an affliction called neuroticism and there are better treatments than wars of aggression.
Supporting strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities is an “America First” position. My family and friends in Missouri don’t want to live under the threat of an Iranian nuclear attack for the rest of their lives.

I know it’s pretty mainstream to hate the southern United States as a region, but I’m still shocked it can be done both so explicitly and nonchalantly.
All maps of America look the same

Lew Rockwell is one of the finest leaders the libertarian movement ever produced. Or it might be more correct to say, Lew Rockwell produced the libertarian movement.
"For everything you've done for the Austrian school. For placing Mises and Rothbard at the forefront....For creating an intellectual home for thousands of people all around the world. @RonPaul presents @lewrockwell with a Lifetime Achievement Award from @mises." - @jeffdeist

If Dan Crenshaw had the power, he’d have SEALs in Helmand Province right now losing their eyes, legs, arms, genitals, and worse. And he’d have them there in 2032. And 2042. And forever. A permanent meat grinder for U.S. soldiers. That’s what’s disgusting.
On June 15, 2012, Crenshaw was serving with the SEALs in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, when an IED mortally wounded his interpreter and severely wounded him. 1/
