Great to join colleagues, diplomats and sports stars at the reception in the Foreign Office to mark the start of the Football World Cup.
Some great memorabilia on display, too - ticket prices a lot lower in 1966!

- This is a welcome and important move by the BBC with the Deputy Director General taking on editorial strategy and delivery responsibility - which should give the new DG, Matt Brittin, more bandwidth to focus on his many other areas of responsibility, while still being ultimately
- The left's attitude towards public spending and welfare is truly astonoshiing. They simply don't understand or acknowledge that all public expenditure comes out of the pockets of taxpayers/ working people.
- Nigel Huddleston MP repostedToday @KemiBadenoch will set out another step in our plan to root out identity politics from our public services. Live on X from 10:30am. Don’t miss it!

- Had a wonderful time at the Warwickshire & Worcestershire Conservatives area dinner in the splendid surroundings of the British Motor Museum last night with the highly entertaining Andrew Pierce as our guest speaker. Thank you to the organisers, staff and everyone who attended.
- Delighted to visit the De Montfort School in Evesham for a Q&A session. We had a constructive discussion on topics including mobile phones at school and social media, value for money of going to university, job opportunities for young people and the tragic case of Henry Novak.

- Another broken Labour promise. Their manifesto said the money raised from putting VAT on private schools would be used to hire 6,500 more teachers. But the number of teachers is going down, not up and putting VAT on education will probably end up costing the taxpayer more!Labour promised 6,500 new teachers. Today we learned that there are 1,900 FEWER teachers. It turns out Keir Starmer’s approach to promises is the same as he does with his messages - auto delete.
