It’s official, Michigan. I’m running to be your next United States senator. Michiganders are the hardest working people I know. We built this country and the middle class, and I’m running to have their backs in Washington. Let’s get to work.

UPDATE: Spoke to hospital exec. They have lost $39M in a month. Some in their group have 1-2 months before they will close doors. We shouldn’t get to the point of hospital shutdowns to compel fed govt to secure the medical & fiscal solvency of this nation.

I just recorded an interview with @wjrradio where things got pretty heated and the male radio host repeatedly said he was offended because I unapologetically stated that the decision to bear a child is a woman’s choice and a woman’s choice only. Full stop.

I am concerned about the mental health of my colleague from Georgia and would like ⁦@CapitolPolice⁩ to address her dangerous threats in my workplace. Just as we would in any school or job site, we cannot let calls for gun violence go unchecked.

Donald Trump came to Detroit today and insulted our city’s rebound and resolve. Little does he know Detroit is a comeback city & Michiganders are beyond tired of his constant lies and efforts to divide us. He has no place back in the White House.

This hateful poster is appalling and upsetting. I encourage all my colleagues to condemn bigotry of this kind and not stay silent. Fear mongering and bigotry especially the kind that plays off a national tragedy has no place in American civil society.
This poster is in your Capitol on a booth sponsored by @WVGOP “When someone shows you who they are, believe them”

Thank you, @HillaryClinton, for your endorsement and everything you do for women and working families. Together we are going to win on Tuesday and take the first step toward flipping #MI11 blue. Let’s do this.

I am in Washington to vote YES on $2,000 checks to the Americans hardest hit by this pandemic!

It’s easy to exist in an echo chamber and only talk about these tough issues with like-minded individuals. As your representative from Michigan’s 11th District, I feel it’s important to have these hard conversations - our rights are on the line. Tune in at noon.

As the sun slipped beneath the horizon on Orchard Lake, Rob proposed and I said yes! Here is to love in all times.

How do I describe the freshman class of the 116th Congress? “We are the doers. We’re the defenders of democracy. We’re here to make it work.” Thank you @danbalz for capturing this moment and bringing your talents to this piece.

Why is this happening? Because we are in state of emergency and all non-elective surgeries are canceled so revenue has plummeted overnight. Insurance companies still raking it in. We need to bring all parties to the table to rise to this challenge and avoid a health catastrophe.

Earlier today incredible paramedics took my loving father, Jim Stevens to Beaumont Troy for treatment of COVID-19. My dad tested positive Saturday after experiencing symptoms. He is currently receiving oxygen and excellent care from a team of dedicated nurses and doctors.

Today, 5 white male Republicans spoke on the House floor against abortion. Not only is it irony, since they’re in the Freedom Caucus, but if they cared so much about the sanctity of life, then why don’t they use the same passion to address school shootings and capital punishment?
