My mother was a waitress. We always stack our plates. "Dirtying the bottom of the plate" is a non-issue since they should be washing the whole plate anyway. A restaurant that tries to get away with only washing the top should be avoided.

Because it's nearly impossible to recreate an accident caused by lack of graphical power on purpose. They have the ability to render further and in more detail, and it's nearly impossible for these people to limit themselves the same way the technical did back when the game was

If they wanted to make a different canon, why not just go with an entirely different name and make up their own characters? What's the point of using a recognized name if you're not going to use the canon behind that name?
