Let’s imagine the howls our outcry and the calls for resignation if my friend @MattHancock hadn’t hit 100,000 tests target - and now listen to the sullen silence as he succeeds. Well done Matt

Keir Starmer’s reshuffle is impressive - the Marxist nutters are out; moderate left are in. When this crisis is eventually over, and politics is resumed, the Tories are going to find that the 5 years when there was no opposition and no alternative has come to an abrupt end

Rishi Sunak will be Prime Minister by the end of the day. Some think, like me, he’s a solution to our problems;others think he’s part of the problem. But whatever your politics, let’s all celebrate the first British Asian becoming PM and be proud of our country where this can happen

Watching PMQs there’s one clear conclusion: after a 5 year absence, Britain has an opposition again

So many police officers are doing an incredible job in this crisis - but forces that are stopping shops selling Easter eggs, putting black dye into lakes, setting up check points and buzzing lone walkers with drones have lost all common sense, and are undermining public consent

Last time a government lost a programme motion was, I believe, on our House of Lords Reform Bill in 2012. The person who led the rebellion was Jacob Rees-Mogg. Funny in politics how what goes around comes around

I think you’ll find the team @eveningstandard know the difference between a bill passing its second reading in the Commons and a bill passing Parliament. I know it’s been a while since the latter happened, but I’m happy to come in and explain how it’s done
This is simply not true. And in the Standard's own words MPs passed the new deal. “Boris Johnson's bill passed by 329 to 299 on Tuesday night, but the proposed three-day timetable for Commons debates on his plan was rejected.” standard.co.uk/news/politics/…

I’m sorry, is this for real? Have the leaders of the hard Brexiteers just called themselves the same name as the leaders of the Ku Klux Klan?
    Replying to @bbclaurak
    2. The 'Grand Wizards' (the new name for the Chequer's daytrippers apparently) also had another meeting this morning, were they discussed again whether they could get on board to back PM's deal and there was no firm conclusion

Lots of things to rebel against the government on, but not this - we do jury service, pay taxes and can be conscripted to fight. Being asked for proof you’re vaccinated/negative before going to a nightclub is about citizenship - hardly the slippery slope to the Gestapo …

Dominic Grieve is deselected because of his beliefs in campaign led by his ex UKIP opponent. The Tory leadership can stop any deselection if it wants - we frequently did. CCHQ should suspend the local party. Otherwise we are heading for a huge, historic split in the Tory Party

Errr ... actually, I’m watching Love Island
George Osborne tonight at his desk, drumming his fingers thoughtfully. #dailymail

The new leader of UKIP is called Mr Dick Braine - really

I suspect after that PMQs it’s starting to dawn on Labour that they’ve made a mistake in underestimating @trussliz
