    Looking ahead to 2026 in my Jake Jackson books. We have The Burial Place out in paperback in February; A Twist in the River out in April. Plus, I am finishing the final edit of the fifth in the series (a Victorian cold case, provisionally called The Angel Maker), out in 2027.

    My wife just went to the supermarket. They were letting ten in, ten out. Everybody queued politely and 2 metres apart. When she got in, the shelves were full. Everyone was polite. We can do this.

    I cannot get over the fact that Chadwick Boseman was diagnosed with Stage Three cancer, and then made Civil War, Marshall, Black Panther, Infinity War, Endgame, 21 Bridges and Da 5 Bloods. All the while not mentioning it in public, and inspiring all those people. Extraordinary.
