There is hardly a corner in France that isn’t sanctified by a Christian name. France is a land consecrated to God. The people have forgotten, but they will soon remember.

I love the cope in the QTs, as if France doesn't have top tier Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indian, etc restaurants. Outside a few metropolitan areas in the US, the availability of good food is scarce. The food in the interior of the country is mostly inedible from experience.

I feel like killing a lobster of such size (and therefore age) is a kind of sacrilege. Sad to see one of that size go like that.

French culture is far richer and was historically always the greater military power (even during the height of the Spanish empire — the only time Spain was on par was during the reign of François I).

All of these arguments are moot. The Capitulation of Alexandria is a valid & binding legal document wherein the Ottomans and the French transferred all rights & claims over the stone to Britain. Britain is rightful owner, whether we like it or not (as French, I don’t like it).

The richest nations tend to have the fewest resources. The pivotal difference is human capital. If Africa were populated entirely by Frenchmen, it would be a living paradise with the highest quality of life and the richest economy on the planet. As in, 150K+ USD gdp per capita.

Definitely both. The comedy is an artifact of the cinematography, but the substance of the scene is heroically tragic.

They were left with hospitals, roads, ports, rail, schools, factories, farms, etc. The fault for their civilizational failure rests squarely with themselves.

The hour is coming when the heresiarchs will lose all their power and God will erase all their evil. Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will not be mocked.

The thing is that they aren’t fleeing anything. They are rather running towards welfare and developed economies. The problem is that the soil in Europe isn’t special. If you import millions of people from Africa, European countries will just become more and more like Africa.
