From my 7th grade class journal- 1987- still haven’t hung out w @DanMarino but enjoy getting to practice medicine in my favorite city every day. Still get excited before @MiamiDolphins season begins- should be a fun year!
Middle of a long myeloma clinic @SylvesterCancer - got a moment to walk outside for fresh air- lucky enough to spot a group of manatees swimming bye the hospital, including a baby. A moment of Zen amidst the craziness.
One positive I hope comes of this horrible COVID19 pandemic is that it crushes the antivax movement- humanity is being reminded of the panic and damage associated with an untreatable awful virus.
Not a good look as pro-Palestinian protestors target a cancer hospital on New York’s Upper East Side. The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center also houses a paediatric day hospital…
“Make sure they hear you, they’re in the windows”.
Already w some #ASH23 fomo… don’t forget about the sad hematologists left to cover the hospital :(
Looking forward to seeing everything virtually. Looks like going to be a great conference this year.
At least get to light Hanukkah lights at home w the family…
How lucky to live and work in South Florida where a gift from a patient in clinic can be fresh caught yellowtail in a bag of ice (and a bottle of wine)!
I disagree in the strongest terms with his opinion- but do not likely censorship except in the most obvious of circumstances (eg racism, threats). This road leads to nowhere good. People can have different medical opinions, even against overwhelming consensus.
#IGotTheShot !!!
So excited. Lot of enthusiasm here. Health care workers overwhelmingly showing their confidence in its safety. Encouraging everyone to get vaccinated when offered to them! Grateful to modern science and medicine!
