The future of Australia isn’t certain or guaranteed. A bright future requires strategy, planning and preparedness. There is hope in the future of us, but action is needed. I put the evidence into practice in The Future of Us - out 1 April w/ @newsouthbook. #auspol #demography

It’s my birthday. For people like me it’s not a celebration. My birth family deny my birthday, my existence. Why? I’m a survivor of child sexual abuse & I spoke out, causing shame…to them. Today I ask that we never stop speaking out. Truth matters. I should’ve been kept safe.✊

Get rid of pokies. All of them.

Today is hard. I’m a victim of child sexual abuse, within the Catholic system. My perpetrators, and those that enabled them, haven’t had to face their crimes. I long for them to say sorry, to validate my suffering - recognition. Solidarity to all my peers. Today is hard.

I made my first appearance on @ABCthedrum panel recently. Apparently yobbo me doesn’t speak right & this has offended viewers. Mary especially. I have a PhD, but I’m from a disadvantaged background. I didn’t finish school. I deserve to speak as much as fancy folk. Stop this. Pls.

I have underlying health conditions, which I’m likely to to die with not from. I have disability. My life is worth the same as someone free of disability. #auspol

Australia hasn’t confronted its enduring white Australia policy; the racism ripples thru contemporary society: from the playground to the boardroom. If you don’t think Australia has a racism problem you’re probably privileged to never have experienced it!

Dear @AlboMP, never stop talking about that young man in the council flat! Even when people tell you not to talk about that young man, raised by a single mum on income support…KEEP TALKING ABOUT YOUR LIVED EXPERIENCE. Don’t let the haters silence you. Our stories matter. ✊#NPC

13yo boy in my kid’s class today was making rape jokes. Female teacher says, ‘stop it you don’t know whether someone in the class has been raped’. Boy stands up and asks class, ‘has anyone been raped’. Teacher says, ‘I have, now sit down and shut up.’ Kids cheer.

Lol. Someone on Instagram told me I needed to experience CEO sleepout before I commented on it. Dude. I’ve experienced homelessness. I reckon I can comment on homelessness cosplay.

A man raped a child for 3 years. It wasn’t a relationship. Please fix this @canberratimes.

I contacted @Anne_Ruston’s office to chat about my experiences with the national redress scheme in December. The staff chuckled. ‘Ha, no she doesn’t speak with people from the public who just call in, but I’ll give her a message.’ Did you get my message, Anne?
