What a retarded Cold War take. Russians don’t throw away history due to presentism; Soviets sacrificed 27 million souls to be victorious in what they still call the Great Patriotic War. They don’t tear down monuments & rewrite history out of white guilt. That’s a Western cancer.
This Cathedral was literally built to commemorate the victory of the atheist Soviet Communists in WWII. There are even hammers and sickles in the stained glass.
The Soviets went on to massacre millions of Christians, and Christians are still persecuted in Russia today.
