Special providence has really only started to dawn on me after seeing the U.S. economy do exceptionally well post-COVID and seemingly get through every macroeconomic shock unscathed - I’m just going to start tracking - both stock and flow - examples of that

lol no. Forced sales set bad precedent, the entire potential deal would likely be unworkable anyway since it’s complex M&A under extremely high scrutiny, and often, software assets are not separable from each other due to co-joint infrastructure and developers

Yeah, and unlike many of those crazy promises, the tariff one requires no congressional action. It’s still endlessly weird to me that people voted for Trump in the hopes he wouldn’t implement his main campaign promises

Green card holders could travel internationally before and renter the country with no problems before trump added nationality based restrictions on it. He *functionally* deported them until the 9th circuit stopped it.

Even avoiding these amusing pendantic word games - the LPRs exercised their right to freely travel in and out of the U.S. before Trump changed the locks and froze them out. functionally identical to a deportation. US citizens and LPRs could freely enter the U.S. during COVID.
