Good meeting with @DarraghOBrienTD in Brussels today. We have a lot of work to do together as 🇮🇪 soon takes over the presidency of the @EUCouncil. Grids package, electrification and managing the energy crisis are at the top of the agenda.

This is really important because it will allow governments to invest more in what we really need to protect our consumers from high energy prices. Electrification, grids, storage, energy savings and measures that help switching from fossil fuels to cleaner alternatives. ↓

Member States that take action to strengthen Europe's energy security & accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels have the opportunity to request limited fiscal flexibility under the current National Escape Clause for defence spending. ↓
