    Crews are working tirelessly around the clock to clear I-80 of snow & ice. Route remains closed between Applegate & the Stateline. Whiteout conditions in some areas. Over 30 inches of snow fell on Donner Pass the past 24 hrs. @CHP_Truckee @CHPGoldRun @nevadadot @CaltransHQ

    We're also still working to clear numerous trees from I-80. They. Just. Keep. Falling. 🤦‍♀️Please remember to thank a maintenance worker for their continued efforts to get the highways reopened.

    Mother Nature was wicked but our crews were resilient & never stopped by assisting & rescuing motorists, & clearing trees, power poles, debris & snow. Since Dec. 24, 1,350 Caltrans' employees have been working in 24-hour rotating shifts to maintain CA's highways in the Sierra.

    This is what can happen when you attempt to drive in snow with a vehicle not designed for it. Caltrans, CHP and tow operators spent New Year’s Eve pulling out dozens of stranded vehicles. ⁦@CHP_Truckee⁩ ⁦@CHPSouthLake⁩

    👷Caltrans isn't just plowing snow❄️❄️❄️ but working around the clock removing trees, debris & power poles from I-80. The interstate remains CLOSED🚧 from Colfax (@PlacerCA) to the Nevada State-line. No estimated time of reopening. 🥶#KnowBeforeYouGo #SafetyFirst @CHP_Truckee

    I-80, SR-20 and SR-49 will remain CLOSED today due to downed trees, power lines and continued heavy snow. Crews are working around the clock to get the highways reopened. This video was taken morning on SR-20 near Bear Valley where crews report less than one lane width for travel
