    It's official: the UNCRC is being written into Scots law! It's an incredible day for children and young people, and an incredible achievement, too. THANK YOU to all the #HumanRightsDefenders who helped make this happen. Thank you for making #UNCRCScotland a reality.

    🎉 Today is historic! The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is now part of Scots law, making children's rights legally enforceable in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Let’s celebrate this huge milestone & thank all the children & young people who campaigned to make this possible. ❤️🛡️👏🏾

    There have been numerous media reports and online discussion on the breakdown of a child’s adoption. While support for adoptive families is a legitimate children’s rights issue, the Commissioner is concerned about the child’s anonymity and right to privacy. 1/2

    This is a landmark day: the right to sibling contact is now part of Scots law! 🎉 It's a step long called for by our office and others, because a sibling relationship is a special relationship. All care-experienced children should be able to share family life.

    When we worked with @scotwomensaid, we asked children and young people to tell us what qualities a great children's advocate would have. We then produced this image based on what they said— contact us if you'd like to order some postcard-sized copies.

    We’re thrilled the UNCRC Bill has been given Royal Assent ✅ Children & young people have led the campaign for UNCRC incorporation in Scotland & we can now look ahead to children’s rights being enshrined in law, policy and practice. Next step, implementation!
