Why are teachers not being vaccinated right now? Who else has to sit in an enclosed space with 30+ other people, all day long, breathing the same air, with no screens, no high grade PPE, no proper protection? This is a national scandal. Teachers need public support on this!

What really maddens me is how one day teachers are demonised, accused of self-interest & threatened with legal action & the next day schools are described by Boris Johnson as โ€˜vectors for transmissionโ€™ - exactly why teachers wanted schools closed. Shameful!

Thank you to the 'middle-class women of a certain age' who spoke out against Gregg Wallace's behaviour, to protect the younger, less powerful women who felt that they could not say anything. Why were the other presenters & the programme makers silent & so complicit?

This is Judit. She died in a concentration camp, along with her mother & grandmother. Her aunt, uncle & younger cousins also died in a different camp. My family. They are not forgotten. #HolocaustRemembranceDay

How can it be fair, when great teachers, on basis of previous results, make a judgement on knowledge of current students that is overturned by an algorithm? In an awful year, with no perfect solutions, least worst is to give students benefit of the doubt & trust their teachers.

Please could you tell me in what ways Toby Young meets the criteria, as set out in the applicant pack, (below) for this public appointment? @JoJohnsonUK @MichaelBarber9 There is a legal obligation for the Secretary of State to pay heed to these criteria. Has that been met?

For 1 year only, for a cohort who have had a terrible time of it anyway, surely the best option is to err on the side of generosity to avoid the kind of gross injustices that are already emerging? Lives blighted for no fault of their own is NOT acceptable!

Note those stepping up to praise him. I can never forgive Gove for his divisive anti-blob rhetoric which has shaped the discourse for more than a decade, for the damage to GCSE English, for Ebacc & damage to creative subjects & multiple other gross distortions of the edu system
One of the most significant educational figures in modern history. So many of the gains that have been made in the sector are down to his efforts. Massive figure in the landscape of reform: curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, literacy etc

Iโ€™ve just heard of A*s brought down to Bs in a school whose teachers I know and really trust. This must be happening up and down the country. My personal view? Donโ€™t set up a laborious, slow, as yet unknown appeals process. Just use the teacher judgments. Least worst answer!

This is very serious stuff. What are DfE civil servants doing monitoring the social media (and other) activity of education professionals? On whose orders? On what basis? Who has decided who should be monitored? What are they doing with the info? 1/

I wouldnโ€™t dream of listening to this. He may have โ€˜survivedโ€™ politics but much in education did not survive him! With Dominic Cummings, he stoked factionalism, did untold damage, & seriously distorted subject English. He shouldnโ€™t be helped by @bbcCurrAff to reinvent himself.
Coming to @BBCRadio4 next week... Surviving Politics with Michael Gove. Michael Gove talks to politicians from different parties about about the strengths and skills needed to navigate a career in politics. ๐ŸŽง Subscribe on @BBCSounds. bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0jโ€ฆ

Our rubbish govt arriving at the inevitable far too late! If theyโ€™d closed schools & locked down 2 weeks ago, they might have helped NHS, saved lives, slowed infections & been able to allow restricted 1 day only Xmas gatherings. Always last min, always U-turns, no decisiveness.

When I taught, some classes performed better than the overall school pattern, year groups differed hugely from year to year, school changes caused a sudden leap in achievement, students outperformed expectations. Teachers know about these things & see work. An algorithm doesnโ€™t.

Michaela: Have a massive row, a court case, lots of media exposure orโ€ฆ 1. Open a classroom for multi-faith prayer. 2. Set ground rules as you would for every other aspect of school life. 3. Discuss tolerance, respect for each personโ€™s interpretation of their faith & โ€ฆ1/
