- Congratulations to @SteveEwen of The Province & Vancouver Sun on receiving the Media Person of the Year for his longstanding commitment to covering high school sports in BC. #BCSSAwards
- As we transition from fall to winter sports, remember, students who participate in multiple high school sports often become more well-rounded adults. Also, studies show that multiple-sport participants have fewer injuries than those students who focus on the same sport all year.
00:00- The Ministry's bulletin has been released and we can confirm that effective Saturday, Feb 19, school sport events can now operate at 50% of normal operating capacity. We will work with our member schools and venues on this, but spectators will be permitted within these limits.
- SARGE! The teams may change from year to year, but one thing does not. Walter "Sarge" Becker will be on the field, without fail, officiating the BC Championship. He has done so, every year, for more than two decades, part of his 50 years of service to BCSS. Thank you, Sarge!
00:00 - What. A. Game. Congratulations to your 2022 BCSS 'AAA' Champions, @vcfootball!! @VCIrishSports / @BCHSFB
- If anybody needs further evidence on the power and impact of #schoolsport, look no further. Star QB of the winning team, just moments after winning the @SUBWAYCanada Bowl. When seeing this, we can only feel positive and optimistic about our youth and tomorrow's leaders. My favourite picture from the 2021 Subway Bowl. @carsoneaglesfb QB Logan Mellish consoling a Bateman player seconds after Carson won the title 40-38 in overtime! Great show of sportsmanship! @EagleNewsBC @BCHSFB @BCSchoolSports #SubwayBowl #BCHSFB #sportsmanship #Football
- It is one thing to be a COACH, another thing to be a MENTOR, but a completely different thing to be a LEADER. We are proud to have thousands of coaches, mentors, and leaders working with our student-athletes. Coaches, thank you for everything you do for BC high school sports!!
- As it pertains to today's updates from Dr. Henry; we are expecting an updated bulletin from the Ministry of Education, with clarity on the K-12 Guidelines (specifically spectators) before the end of day. We will certainly provide more information as soon as its available.
- When your school wins it’s first AAA combined banner and the grade 12’s call an meeting to pay tribute to their teammates and coaches! Winning is nice but the real reason school sport is so powerful is it helps transform our young people into quality citizens and great leaders!
- Thank you to our teacher sponsors, athletic directors and teacher coaches that keep our school sport community growing. We appreciate the work you put in both on the field of play and in the classroom #internationalteachersday
