- Some personal news: Today is the five-year anniversary of my stem cell transplant via @BCCancer to combat multiple myeloma. My blood work remains strong and I feel great. Immense thanks to the doctors, nurses, friends and family who have helped my wife and I battle through this.
- My heart is broken. My mind is numb. Botchford loved his family. Botchford loved the business. He's one of the five most talented people I've ever worked with. I can't believe that I won't pick up the phone to "EWEN!!!" and then yell back "BOTCHFORD!!!" and hear us both laugh.
- Being told the message that played on @TSN1040 this morning about no longer being a sports station came out of Toronto and people in the building weren't aware what was happening until they started getting texts from listeners about it. They couldn't have done this last night?
- Hearing that @WHLGiants D Bowen Byram is going to be a part of the @Avalanche roster for the NHL playoff return. Leaving this weekend for Colorado. The 19-year-old Byram has 48 goals and 149 points in 139 regular season and playoff games with Vancouver over the past two years.
- It's the one-year anniversary of my stem cell transplant and I'm still standing upright. (Most days.) Just wanted to thank everyone for their support and encouragement. Kudos especially to the hard-working, understanding folk involved with @BCCancer. #CancerSurvivor
- Was at Rogers Arena for a @NLLWarriors story today. Elias Pettersson was out on the lacrosse floor on his own, doing agility drills. #40doing#40things
- Allvin: "I can't overpay one single player and Nikita Zadorov was extremely good for us in the playoffs and a character guy and we did our best and he decided he wanted to go somewhere else." #Canucks
- Celebrating my 50th birthday today. Feel way better than I felt when I was 40 and that's after two bouts the past decade with #cancer. Much thanks to @BCCancer, @bccancerfdn, various doctors and other medical staff, family, friends and especially @CANeufeld. I'm a lucky dude.

- My dad Bob Ewen died today. He's the guy closest to the front of the car. He loved his buddies and he loved his cars. He loved working for the Vancouver Fire Department. He also loved his family. And we loved him like crazy. He was a character guy.
- Eleven years ago today was the first time a doctor said to me that I had #cancer. Much thanks to the family, friends and medical staff who have gotten my wife Carol-Ann and I through to this point. And, in case you are wondering, an appropriate anniversary gift is @Twizzlers.
- We have resurrected the Crush The Tumour With Humour blog. You can guess the unfortunate reasons, though. Cancer has returned for a third time. Prognosis seems good. Radiation starting next week with @BCCancer. #Cancer crushthetumourwithhumour.blogspot.com
