Today, I did some aerial photogrammetry from a plane! Due to the cabin being tight and my cam’s viewfinder disp. not rotating, i had to get clever. Using the HDMI input on my @FatsharkRC FPV goggles, I had a clean feed of my camera, which worked super well!

a few years ago, I painstaikingly scanned my old 4Runner right before selling it. Today I reprocessed the data as a gaussian splat It was a great little offroader. I'll visit it in VR some day and feel like I'm sitting back in the driver seat.

For people who don’t get the 2D gaming on virtual monitors in VR use case: HMDs have the potential to be the ultimate monitor for any content. Any aspect ratio, any resolution, any size, it’s all “native” in vr I get to play my game on a massive screen while I have spatial

I get that valve doesn’t see much value in MR games (unlike meta, which continues to fund and promote it) But for normal 2D gaming and virtual desktoping, high quality passthrough is essential! Feels like an oversight when 2D gaming is such a big feature!

Drone scans as Gaussian splats are truly spectacular to look at in VR, especially ones of San Francisco I’m in a complete “holy shit” phase of 3DGS and I’m loving every bit of it
