A rare tweet from me but #SuperSaturday is a huge deal. Get vaccinated tomorrow or, if you already have been, encourage whanau or friends to. Shot Aotearoa.

Except that… actually it didn’t fail! You should read what the Lancet paper actually says. And compared with virtually every other country’s excess mortality from COVID-19 and all causes during 2020-22, NZ’s approach was a spectacular success. See @Thoughtfulnz for the data

I spent much of the last 25 years in NZ’s excellent public service & saw no evidence of either left or right ‘leaning’. I have no idea how any of my former CE colleagues voted, we just didn’t talk about it. Rob Campbell’s comments are a big story because it’s a very rare event.

NZ Secondary Schools Choir sang Po Marie /Silent Night in the Auckland Koru lounge before boarding their flight to Welly. Beautiful. Memorable. One of the activities we can do safely in NZ because everyone did their bit. Ngā mihi NZ!

Thanks @cjsbishop for your kind words and your championing of the covid vaccination campaign. Holding governments and the public service to account is an essential part of a healthy democracy.

I want to be clear there is no poke here at all. I simply wanted to make sure I had communicated the information correctly as there is a lot to get across during the 1pm standup. Thanks
