This is one utterly tragic news story in the midst of thousands of similar stories of grief and despair. Dima was an Erasmus student in @UofGlasgow a few years ago - the @WHO DG’s message says it all. We share their grieving for one of our own. Ceasefire and release hostages now.
My colleagues and I are devastated: we have lost one of our own in #Gaza today. Our young @WHOoPt colleague Dima Alhaj was tragically killed alongside her 6 month old baby, her husband and 2 brothers. Reportedly multiple other family members sheltering in the same house were

Wonderful work being carried out on a potential Covid-19 vaccine by Dr Kate Broderick our @UofGlasgow #WorldChanging alumna
A Scottish scientist at the forefront of developing a coronavirus vaccine has told STV she is 'very excited' about the results so far. bit.ly/2PT9BJF

Really important - a well crafted motion which in extremis avoids no deal by revoking art 50. No reason for any MP who *genuinely* opposes no deal not to support this cross-party motion if no other solution is acceptable to HoC.

In 1870 all of @UofGlasgow's all male senior leaders took part in a photo. 150 years on, for #IWD2020, some of my senior women colleagues have recreated it. This new version shows how far we have come - but we intend to move forward this conversation and deliver further action

A moving, wonderful new poem written by @JackieKayPoet for @UofGlasgow as the university signs a historic Memorandum of Understanding with the University of West Indies @UWImona . An important first step. Thank you to all my colleagues for making this happen.

Fantastic news from @scotgov this morning. A demonstration that Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 welcomes talented EEA/EU 🇪🇺 students - many contributing actively to our economy after graduation.
EU citizens starting their studies in 2020/21 will get the same support as Scottish students - even if current legal obligations to EU students cease to apply when the UK exits the EU. Scotland is the first nation in the UK to offer this commitment: bit.ly/2DnOOrt

Spent a couple of days at the QEUH for some tests (nothing serious). I am just in awe not only at the professionalism of @NHSGGC staff but their constant kindness and good humour to patients in a v busy environment. Very grateful to have access to such a fantastic health service.

Such a great heart warming story. Today @sabir_zazai‘s father attended his son's honorary graduation at @UofGlasgow after the decision to deny his visitor visa was overturned. #TeamUofG #UofGWorldChangers #UofGCommDay #RefugeesWelcome

As we approach the festive pause at @UofGlasgow, sending all good wishes for a peaceful and safe Christmas season to all. 🎅 🎄 This picture is from the snowfall earlier this year.

I wrote this because of the strange way in which the media characterises universities as being ‘closed’. We have never been closed during #Covid_19 Our colleagues and students have responded magnificently and in an unprecedented way to the pandemic. The media should open its eyes
'If anyone thinks universities are closed, I would simply urge them to open their eyes.' @UofGVC opinion piece about how the hard work of university staff and students have kept universities open throughout the #COVID19 crisis. policyscotland.gla.ac.uk/when-will-we-o…

As a Standing Council on Europe we have written this open letter to warn about the consequences of the current approach to #Brexit - far from getting #Brexit done the U.K. could be heading for years of acrimonious dispute. thetimes.co.uk/article/261c4a…
