    During my research year, I published 30+ papers. So how can YOU make the most of a #research year? 1. Don't be afraid to come up with your own project ideas. 2. Spend time in the clinic and OR. Some of the best research questions come from problems you identify in clinic or OR.

    #Match2022 incoming interns, ready for intern year? Tips: 1. Find snacks to work that fit in your pockets. Trader Joe’s has great snacks! 2. Buy an extra phone charger to bring to work — put initials on it. 3. Meet with a current PGY1 at the program to get tips! #InsideTheMatch

    Tips for Your Patient List during Intern Year: 1. Carry a patient list (made by the EMR) with patient dx, basic labs, diet, procedure. 2. Keep track of orders to be placed. Check off boxes on your sheet when orders are placed. 3. Update the list. #MedTwitter #InsideTheMatch

    Tips to find a mentor: 1. Look for specialty organizations that have formal #mentorship programs 2. Email faculty at your home institution 3. Attend a conference (especially regional ones!), and request to meet-up for coffee 4. Ask upper-level #MedStudents who their mentors are

    3. Make connections. Meet with your faculty research mentor weekly + other attending physicians in the department. 4. A year is short - don't be afraid to push projects along. 5. Try to work on a few projects at once. 6. Read the journal weekly within your field. #InsideTheMatch
