    1st pay slip is in (with errors) As a Junior Doctor, I earn £14.09/hr (pre-tax), £11.27/hr (post-tax) as basic pay. Team is understaffed, always have senior support, but often no SHO or Reg. Frequently stay past shift (exception reporting) Are we paid enough for what we do?

    Day 95 of F1 - probably the worst shift yet Wknd on call 8-20:30. SHO + Reg taking referrals 54 patients on the wards, 2 F1s. Ward round till 15:30. No breaks, ate through discharges. Only break was to pee or fill water Something's not quite right. Back tomorrow for round 2

    As final year med students preference jobs, a reminder that #Excel is a powerful tool that you can use to help automate the ranking process. Instead of doing all of the work, get Excel to do 90%, and you do the remaining 10%. Here I ranked my partner's jobs in under an hour🧵

    German hospitals are excellent: - On my elective in Hamburg, staff were given €5 food allowance/day - Patient food better than NHS - F2F neurosurgery R/V (even in a small hospital), not just Referapatient - Bed for NOK in room Cons: - Sparkling water is as common as still

    No one mentions the real 'take home' pay £14.09/hour for an FY1 Deduct 1) Tax 2) NI 3) Student finance With what is left, you're expected to: 1) Pay for parking 2) Pay for courses and exams in order to progress 3) Attend conferences 4) Save up?

    Student finance, student debt or a 9% graduate tax? April 2023 was the first month my 9% repayment began. Keen to check how much I will be repaying for the next 30 years, I checked my total balance. But how did I get to owing £80k?

    Worked 41 hr in 3 days. ONS avg. for Q3 22 is 36.3 hr/wk Missed youngest bros b'day (Fri), annual family gathering (Sat) and Chinese New Year (Sun) I've been a doctor, phleb, porter, to emergencies and a death, made urgent referrals, and hardly had a rest We're only human 1/5
