    This is Dr Zbigniew Religa a Polish pioneer of heart surgery. In his first full procedure, he operated for 23 hrs. Here he is monitoring his patients vital signs on antiquated machinery. In the corner is one of the exhausted assistants. He was once an intern. #PayUgandanDoctors

    It must be around ten years now since a small hunched figure reluctantly followed his Mum into my office. He sat, eyes firmly on the floor, with a sadness like the whole world was on his shoulders. His Mum explained that he had difficulty learning and was always failing tests
