As a proud adopted Stocktonian, I, like many others, was appalled at the Home Secretary's insult to our borough.
Really grateful to @TheHouseMag for publishing my "love letter" to Stockton on Tees ๐
I would like to make is clear that @JamesCleverly has not apologised to me but apologised for using unparliamentary language. That is quite different. But - it is to the people of Stockton North he should apologise to because it was our area, not me, he insulted.
I asked the Prime Minister why 34% of children in Stockton North are living in poverty.ย The Home Secretary James Cleverly can apparently be heard saying it is a "sh**hole".
This comment shames the Home Secretary, the Government and his party and he should apologise.
A Tees Tory MP claimed today the small boats crossing the channel is the number one issue at his surgeries. Weird because no-one at mine have ever mentioned them. They're concerned about education, mental health services and energy costs - everything his lot are getting wrong
My Point of Order demanding an apology for the insult to my constituency during Prime Minister's Questions today.
The Tories have let my constituents down for 13 years, now they are insulting them as well.
Being inundated with people telling me they want Article 50 revoked, others wanting a second referendum and others again saying they've changed their minds in Brexit and want to Remain. Only a people's vote in the end is going to sort this out
Now an admission and apology but for insulting @ACunninghamMP not Stockton. Will it wash or is the Home Secretary digging himself into a bigger sh*thole himself?
I'm back in the Commons in the hope the Speaker will allow me a topical question so I can challenge the home secretary to tell the truth and apologise for his derogatory remark made about my constituency.
Hartlepool Magistrates Court will not be re-opening despite promises by the Tories during the by election that they'd restore local services to the town. The news was confirmed in a reply to my parliamentary question when I asked about it. Wonder what else they'll renege on?
If Mayor Houchen believes the reports in Private Eye are inaccurate and therefore potentially a libel against him and others, why doesn't he sue them? Surely he should be demanding they set the record straight - unless of course he knows they are correct.
Are there any people elsewhere in the country seeing mass wash ups of sea creatures on their local beaches?
'Hundreds of starfish' wash up on Teesside beaches over weekend'. Why is government blocking studies & enquiries into what's happening in the NE
