    Whilst Paras provided security and controlled crowds, medics from the Regimental Aid Post (RAP) @AirborneMedics and searchers from the Royal Military Police (RMP) worked tirelessly throughout #OpPITTING to successfully evacuate 15,000 people. #AdUnumOmnes #AllToOneEnd

    15-17 Aug: As Op PITTING progressed, there were increased levels of desperation from civilians seeking to flee Afghanistan. Our young Paratroopers witnessed unimaginable scenes, the best and worst of what human beings are capable of.

    Final badging shoot for 4 members of 2 PARA Sniper Platoon. First round head shot at 400m and first round hit at 900m is the minimum standard of the @BritishArmy Sniper.

    Sad news earlier this week with the passing of General Sir Geoffrey Howlett KBE MC and Major Mike Ryan. Gen Howlett was 3 PARA Air Adjt during the airborne assault on El Gamil in 1956 and CO 2 PARA 1971-73. Major Ryan commanded HQ Coy (2 PARA) at Goose Green. #EveryManAnEmperor

    Although Op PITTING was primarily a 2 PARA Battlegroup deployment, it would not have been possible without the incredible efforts of others from across 16X and MOD #AdUnumOmnes #AllToOneEnd Pictured are elements of the Pathfinder Platoon, @3PARA and 2 YORKS, to name but a few.

    LCpl Nicky Mason was killed in an explosion on 13/09/08 in Helmand Province (Afghanistan), whilst serving on Op HERRICK with @2PARA_HQ. On Friday, the Aveley Bypass in Essex was renamed in honour of this fallen Paratrooper. RIP Nicky. #NeverForgotten #UtrinqueParatus

    On 26 Aug 21 (5 weeks ago today), a suicide bomber targeted the civilians queuing at the Baron Hotel. 13 of our brothers and sisters from the US Marine Corps, US Navy and 82nd ABD made the ultimate sacrifice. #WeWillRememberThem #SemperFi #ShoulderToShoulder
