Private Damien Jackson, aged 19, of 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, died from injuries sustained in a firefight with Taliban forces in Nahr-e Saraj, Helmand Province.

- On 20 August 2006 Corporal Bryan Budd, of @3PARA led his section in a manoeuvre against Taliban insurgents in Sangin. He and his men rushed the insurgents position in order to regain the initiative, and although injured, he continued to attack.
- In July 2006 a small but potent taskforce from 3 PARA deployed to hold a high ridge feature in the north of Helmand Province near the Kajaki Dam.
- It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of one of our own, Sgt Dean 'Waldo' Walton. Waldo was a true 3 PARA man and although he spent several years in the Red Devils doing what he loved the most, he was first and foremost a talented paratrooper.
