Founder & CEO
Leyna Nguyen is a five-time Emmy Award-winning journalist and former CBS News anchor whose career has been dedicated to making complex information clear, practical, and accessible.
As Founder and CEO of VanMay Financial, Leyna leads the firm’s vision, community education, and client-centered approach to financial literacy. She is especially committed to helping families better understand retirement, protection, and long-term financial decisions with confidence.
Leyna is also the founder of Love Across the Ocean, a nonprofit supporting education and humanitarian work in Vietnam for more than 30 years.

Denny Hooten, MBA, APMA®
Chief Financial Officer & Wealth Management Adviser
Denny Hooten brings deep experience in finance, economics, and strategic planning to VanMay Financial and VanMay Wealth Management.
As Chief Financial Officer, Denny helps oversee the firm’s financial strategy while also working with individuals, families, and business owners on long-term wealth management and financial planning strategies.
Denny also teaches finance at USC’s Sol Price School of Public Policy, combining academic insight with real-world financial experience.

Jen Le
Executive Assistant & Client Operations
Jen Le plays a central role in supporting day-to-day operations, client communication, and administrative coordination at VanMay Financial.
With a background in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems, Jen is known for her organization, attention to detail, and commitment to helping clients and team members feel supported throughout the process.
Jen is also a licensed insurance professional and has been deeply involved in charitable efforts supporting underserved communities locally and abroad.

Nikki Phi
Insurance Professional & Training Coordinator
Nikki Phi brings nearly two decades of insurance industry experience and a thoughtful, client-first approach to VanMay Financial.
A graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a background in Finance and International Business, Nikki began her career in property, casualty, and commercial insurance before focusing on life insurance and retirement protection.
Nikki also helps train and support VanMay agents, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to education, professionalism, and client care.
