Orientation is on August 28, 2025.
The UTSU Orientation for 2025 includes the Cheer-Off and Clubs Fair all happening on August 28th from 11am – 4pm.
Yes, however because they are not University of Toronto students, they would not be able to be part of the Cheer-Off or get free food from the food trucks.
YES, it is.
Washrooms are located in surrounding buildings like Gerstein Library, Hart House, Myhal, and the Medical Science Building. For more information on accessible and gender neutral washrooms follow this link.
All clubs are zoned in a list and will be listed on our website at https://www.utsu.ca/orientation
We have Nani’s Gelato, Mustache Burger, Burritoland, Lemonheaven, Feed the 6ix, Me.n.u, and The Blue Foodtruck. We offer a variety of food that we hope will satisfy the tastes and dietary restrictions of all students.
There are NO food tickets. Students will get one item per queue, students can choose to queue for multiple items, however the wait times can range from 1-2 hours. UTSU staff members will be stationed at each food truck for students to scan a QR code to follow our instagram @uoftsu.
YES, it is. Attendees must show that they follow our instagram @uoftsu AND have their TCard or proof of enrollment.
We have a total of 5 water trucks on King’s College Circle. You could find the specific location on the map posted on our website utsu.ca/orientation
We have two UTSU booths located at both ends of Front Campus. One is near University College, and the other is near Convocation Hall facing College St. You could also find support from people who wear UTSU staff t-shirts along the street.
NO, they cannot bring their own tent or chairs.
Yes, however all food distributed must be individually packaged and contain nutritional information on each package.
We recommend that you should arrive on site at 11:30AM on Front Campus. The Club’s Fair ends at 4:00 p.m and we recommend that tear down commences at least 15 minutes before the end time so that we can facilitate the clean up and moving.

Students DO NOT NEED to do any registration. All Orientation events are free of charge and no registration is required.
Buildings will still be open during the time of Orientation, and spots are indicated at this link and we will have a decompression space set up for attendees indicated on the map on our website: utsu.ca/orientation
The support services tents are situated at both north and south sides of King’s College Circle. One is close to the intersection of College St and St George St, and the other is near the junction of Sussex Ave and St George St.
Cheer-off takes place between 11 AM until 12 PM. You could join whenever you want, or you could directly go to the clubs fair and get ready to enjoy all our orientation activities!

YES. We welcome students from all years of school.
Large crowds will be present from 10am – 4pm on August 28th, please refer to the Clubs Fair Map! First-aid will be stationed next to the UTSU Information Booths at Clubs Carnival in red vests. There will also be water stations at various locations on Front Campus and Varsity Centre.
Be yourself and attend the events you can! There are also orientation events hosted by a variety of colleges on campus to participate in before and after August 28th.
Sunscreen, comfortable shoes, hat/visor, umbrella (contingent on weather), and your spirit!
There will be large signs surrounding King’s College Circle and at UTSU information booths stationed at each side of Front Campus. Cheer off is located at Varsity Stadium and crowds will likely walk along Devonshire Rd to get to Clubs Fair on Front Campus.
At the UTSU we strive to ensure our events are accessible to everyone. We have staff on site who are trained to accommodate accessibility needs along with large signs, a directory for our Clubs Fair, accessible access points at all our events and more. If there are concerns for accessibility, do not hesitate to contact us.
No, Orientation is optional however we highly encourage students to join as it’s a great opportunity to meet other first year students and make new friends!
Yes, the UTSU has historically branded orientation as the Week of Welcome.
