How much physical activity do i need?
Canada’s 24-Hour Movement Guidelines show how to balance physical activity, sedentary time and sleep every day to help people live their best lives. They recommend that:
- Children and youth 5 to 17 years do 60 minutes of moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity (MVPA) per day and several hours of various structured and unstructured light physical activity.
- Adults 18 years and older engage in 150 minutes of MVPA per week (roughly 20 minutes per day).
