Skip this and watch Meta drain 40% of your ROAS every month: Most ad accounts treat every buyer like a new one. That means you’re paying acquisition rates to reacquire customers who already love your stuff. I see tons of brands spending $50 on “wins” that email could have gotten for $10. It happens because Meta forgets who people are once they leave the in-app browser. Someone taps your ad, drops their email, and comes back a month later…and Meta counts them as brand new. This breaks your Klaviyo flows and you end up paying Meta just to buy back your own customers. Clever media buying can’t fix that. But here are two things that will: 1) Make sure returning buyers are identified and tied to their email. 2) Add three columns in Ads Manager:  • Purchases • New-customer purchases • Subscription purchases Once you see those clearly, you stop judging ads on blended CPA and start judging on new-customer CPA and New Customer ROAS. That’s the difference between scaling profitably and lighting money on fire. So let Meta handle acquisition.  And let email and owned channels handle retention. Clean your feed, separate your metrics, and stop letting Meta charge you twice for the same customer.

🫶🏽If you can’t brief a human, you can’t brief an agent. Orchestrating the gap between what’s technically possible and what’s culturally resonant is the Marketer’s job now. And as AI agents accelerate, the skills that matter most? Exactly the ones we’ve always undervalued and named ‘soft skills’. Clear communication. I studied English Literature. Word count was everything. Editing and prioritisation was essential. I built my network, working in PR for years. I mastered getting to the point, quickly. I worked at Saatchi where “Brutal Simplicity of Thought” wasn’t just a philosophy, it was on the wall. A daily reminder the most powerful ideas are the ones stripped to their essence. Then came short-form video. I loved translating this new medium to Clients. Thumb-stopping creative. Then AI. Every format changed. The discipline didn’t. Garbage in, garbage out, except now it scales at 10x the speed and 10x the damage. Cultural relevance. This is where I’ve always lived. During my time in PR, Advertising, Meta and BCG I haven’t just reached audiences, I found the ones nobody was talking to. The overlooked, the underestimated. And I turned them into cultural accelerators. People who don’t just receive a message, they move it. AI will give you technically correct. It won’t give you resonant. It won’t know why this moment matters to this community. It won’t feel the cultural shift before the data catches up. It won’t understand that the real unlock isn’t the message, it’s who carries it next. Example? Sabrina’s ‘Espresso’ may have been the most streamed song last year but Kendrick Lamar’s ‘They not like us’ moved culture and discourse. An AI agent CANNOT do that. That’s still a human job. A rare one. And one I’m more energised to do than ever. Elite Marketers of the future are the ones obsessing over the right words, the right people, and the right moment. — and can point an agent to accelerate that clarity. 🎯

💡 What separates good products from great ones? I just went through Amplitude’s Product Benchmark Report, and the data is a reality check for anyone building. A few insights stood out: 👉 Growth is winner-takes-all. The top 10% of products capture more than 80% of all new user growth. Translation: unless you’re in that elite tier, you’re fighting over scraps. 👉 Acquisition ≠ Retention. There’s no correlation between how many users you bring in and how many stick around. Chasing sign-ups without nailing value delivery is basically lighting money on fire. 👉 Activation is the first real moat. Top products get ~21% of users activated on Day 1, while the median sits at ~5%. If people don’t find value immediately, they won’t bother coming back. 👉 Day 7 is destiny. If 7% of users return by Day 7, you’re already in the top 25% of products. That tiny window predicts long-term retention more than anything else. 👉 The retention cliff is brutal. At Month 1, leaders keep ~26% of users. By Month 3, median products lose 96% of the people they worked so hard to acquire. That’s the cost of a weak onboarding and value loop. 👉 Industry benchmarks matter. Media and fintech products tend to have the steepest drop-offs, while B2B SaaS holds retention better thanks to embedded workflows and switching costs. ⸻ Takeaway: stop obsessing over vanity growth. Scaling HeyReach.io's content operation. Here's how we took their CMO's already strong LinkedIn presence, 2-3x'd the reach, and are building it into a full scale content engine: We started working with HeyReach earlier this year. It began with LinkedIn coaching for their CMO Vukasin Vukosavljevic. Now? I'm co-hosting their YouTube channel and building content systems their entire team can use. Here's exactly how it happened and how one coaching engagement turned into their entire content operation: 1. Start with one person, nail the fundamentals: Vuk's LinkedIn was already getting decent engagement. But he knew there was untapped potential. Better hooks. More strategic posts. A system that didn't require starting from scratch every time. We worked on it together. Tested everything: carousels, videos, images, text-only. Built feedback loops. Tracked what actually worked with his audience. Doubled down. Result: 2-3x reach with better audience quality (actual qualified leads, not just vanity metrics). 2. Prove the system works before you scale it: HeyReach didn't want to stop at one person's LinkedIn. They saw the results. They wanted the system for their whole team. The ask evolved from "coach our CMO" to "help us build a content operation that works across the entire brand." So that's what we're building now. 3. Expand into adjacent channels strategically: Now I'm: - Co-hosting videos on their YouTube channel (breaking down LinkedIn strategy) - Creating influencer content for a new feature launch - Building frameworks their team can replicate across platforms 4. Build systems, not just content: The best clients don't want you to just 'do their content.' They want to understand how it works. They want their team to replicate it. They want systems that scale beyond any one person. When you deliver real results and show them the process behind it? Clients don't just renew. They expand. 5. What I learned: People don't just want the content done for them. They want to understand the system so they can use it themselves. That's what the Distinctiva team is working on now. Turning everything we've built for clients into frameworks and systems others can actually use. More on that soon.

Every impression can convert. • The consumer journey isn’t linear anymore. It’s barely a “journey.” • Consistency across channels is impossible. Contextual continuity is the new strategy. • Creators aren’t “media” or “brand” or “performance.” They’re all of it. • AI isn’t a tool. It’s an ecosystem AND the OS that accelerates everything (while probably, ultimately, replacing most of us). • Measurement isn’t a scoreboard. It’s a pulse check that shows what’s working and why.
