Fun Fonix offers printable phonics workbooks, custom worksheet makers, and more. I try my best to make the site smooth and reliable - but if something isn't working, the answers below should help. If your issue isn't covered here, please send me a message and I'll do my best to fix it.

The text in the PDF workbook is not rendering correctly

Most web browsers have moved away from Adobe Acrobat Reader and now use their own built-in PDF renderers. These vary browser to browser and device to device, which can cause fonts and layout to look off when viewing a PDF directly in the browser.

The fix is to download the PDF and open it from your computer rather than in the browser. Right-click the PDF link and choose Save file (or Save link as). Once downloaded, open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader or your system's default PDF viewer for the best results.

If the file still looks wrong after downloading, look for a save icon at the top right of the viewer - saving a fresh copy that way sometimes resolves rendering issues.

Printing problems with the worksheet makers

The worksheet makers generate a worksheet as an HTML page, so you print it the same way you would print any web page.

On a PC or Mac, open the browser's menu (usually the three dots or lines at the top right) and choose Print. You can also use Ctrl+P (Windows) or Cmd+P (Mac).

On a mobile device, look for a share or tools menu at the top of your browser - print options are usually there. If you're unsure, a quick web search for "how to print a page in Chrome" (or your browser of choice) will walk you through it.

Text appears strange in the worksheet makers

With the 2026 site update, the worksheet makers were fully reworked to improve compatibility across browsers and devices. Most rendering and alignment issues should now be resolved.

If you're still seeing text rendering or alignment problems, please send me a message. It helps to know what device and browser you're using, and which worksheet maker is causing the issue.

Recent site updates

2026: Full site rebuild - modern responsive layout, improved navigation, and dedicated pages for every workbook, worksheet maker, and game. All worksheet makers were reworked for better usability, speed, and print reliability. All six workbooks are now available in print on Amazon.

2018: Updated the site to be mobile responsive. Reworked the worksheet makers with a new print menu and fixed text alignment issues across browsers. Added two new worksheet templates: spaghetti string matching and free writing.
