Our Story

From Hand-Punching to Serving the World

1989

Where It All Began — Singapore

The story of EmbPunch begins not in a server room, but in a workshop in Singapore in 1989, where our founder's father took his first steps into the world of embroidery digitizing.

Back then, there was no digitizing software, no computers, no automation. Every embroidery design was created by hand — a painstaking process where skilled craftsmen called "hand punchers" would meticulously plot each stitch point manually using specialized hand-punching equipment.

It was slow, demanding work that required an intimate understanding of how thread behaves on fabric — knowledge that cannot be learned from a screen, only from years of hands-on practice. This foundation of craftsmanship became the bedrock of everything EmbPunch stands for today.

The Art of Hand-Punching

Before software existed, every stitch was plotted by hand. It took days to complete what our digitizers now accomplish in hours — but the attention to detail from that era still defines how we work today.

1990s

The Win Daisy Revolution

The early 1990s brought a seismic shift to the embroidery industry — the arrival of digitizing software. Among the first programs to emerge was Win Daisy, one of the earliest computer-based embroidery digitizing platforms.

For the first time, designs could be punched into a computer rather than physically plotted by hand. The transition was significant, but those who had mastered hand-punching held a crucial advantage — they understood the underlying principles that no software tutorial could teach.

Our family's deep knowledge of manual digitizing translated directly into superior software-based results. Where others relied entirely on auto-digitizing shortcuts, we applied the same meticulous, stitch-by-stitch approach — just faster and more consistently.

From Hand to Screen

The introduction of Win Daisy and early digitizing software transformed the industry. For those who truly understood embroidery — not just the software — it was an opportunity to do exceptional work at scale.

2000s

Building a Local Reputation

Through the late 1990s and early 2000s, we built a strong local reputation providing digitizing and embroidery services to businesses, uniform suppliers, and promotional product companies in our region.

Word spread quickly that our files ran cleaner, required fewer revisions, and produced more consistent results than the competition. Local embroidery shops began to rely on us as their trusted digitizing partner — a relationship model that still defines how we work with clients today.

Every design that left our hands was tested, checked, and optimized before delivery. Not because a client demanded it — but because that is the standard the craft demands.

Local Roots, Global Standards

The relationships we built locally taught us what embroidery businesses truly need from a digitizing partner — reliability, consistency, and files that simply work on the machine without drama.

2012

EmbPunch Goes Online — The World Opens Up

In 2012, Muhammad Uzair Khatri launched EmbPunch.com — taking the family's decades of digitizing expertise to the global stage. What had been a local service became available to any embroidery business, anywhere in the world, at any time.

The vision was simple but ambitious: deliver the same quality and reliability that had earned trust locally, but through a fast, fully online platform that made ordering as simple as uploading a file.

Within the first year, EmbPunch was serving clients across the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK. The files ran clean. The turnaround was fast. The word spread — and it hasn't stopped spreading since.

Going Global in 2012

EmbPunch.com launched with one mission — make professional-grade embroidery digitizing accessible to every embroidery business on the planet, without compromise on quality or turnaround time.

The Person Behind EmbPunch

Built by Someone Who Actually Understands Embroidery

EmbPunch is led by Muhammad Uzair Khatri, who grew up surrounded by embroidery machines, thread, and the demanding craft of making digital files that actually sew correctly on physical machines.

Unlike many online digitizing services that are run purely as software businesses, Uzair has hands-on knowledge of every aspect of the production process — from how different fabrics behave under a needle, to the specific settings that prevent thread breaks on commercial multi-head machines.

This real-world expertise is embedded in every file that leaves EmbPunch. It's the difference between a file that looks good on screen and a file that runs cleanly in production — and it's why our clients stay with us for years.

Our Process

How 35 Digitizers Deliver in 2–4 Hours

Most digitizing services have one or two digitizers working business hours. We run a team of 35 specialists across multiple shifts — Mon through Fri, 24 hours a day.

01
Order Placed

Client uploads artwork via the secure client panel. Order enters the queue immediately — no manual processing required.

02
Design Audit

A quality checker reviews the order information — size, placement, fabric type, format — before it reaches a digitizer. Missing details are flagged immediately.

03
Hand Digitizing

An assigned digitizer manually punches every element of the design. No auto-digitizing. Density, underlay, pull compensation — all set by hand for production accuracy.

04
QC & Delivery

The completed file goes back to the quality checker who reviews density settings and critical parameters before it's released to the client panel for approval.

35 digitizers working across multiple shifts — Mon–Fri, 24 hours a day. That's why most orders are done in 2–4 hours.

Why EmbPunch

What Makes Us Different

35+ Years of Heritage

Our digitizing knowledge traces back to 1989 — before digitizing software even existed. That foundation of genuine craftsmanship informs every file we produce.

100% Hand Digitized

Every file is manually punched by a trained digitizer. We never use auto-digitizing software to generate files — the results are categorically different, and embroiderers know it.

Dual Quality Control

Every order passes through two quality checkpoints — before digitizing and after. This two-stage process is why our revision rate is under 3.5%.

2–4 Hour Turnaround

With 35 digitizers working Mon–Fri around the clock, most orders are completed and in your client panel within 2–4 hours of placement.

Proof Before Payment

We complete your digitized file and send a digital proof before any payment is required. You only pay for what you've approved.

102 Countries Served
