Learn to Use the DRS Softech IMAP Backup Tool with this step-by-step Guide

The DRS Softech IMAP Backup Tool offers advanced functionalities for more accurate mailbox backups. We have also made every effort to keep the utility user-friendly and interactive. However, some users may find certain features of the tool somewhat complex. Therefore, we have prepared this detailed manual to help you understand all the features of the IMAP Email Backup Tool. This guide covers every step and option related to email migration, so please read it thoroughly to understand the software.

Follow the below steps to migrate IMAP email account to PST file format

Step 1: Download the DRS Softech IMAP Backup Tool and run it as an administrator.

Step 2:Click on the Continue button to proceed further

Step 3: Enter the login credentials: Email ID, Password, Port No, and IMAP host, and click the Login button.

Note: If you need clarification on your host or port, below is a list of common email clients and their default IMAP and SMTP settings. If you're using cPanel Webmail (such as Roundcube, Horde, Rackspace, etc.), you can find the required information there as well

Step 4: Select the Email file and folders from the tree-structured list, and click on the Next button.

Step 5: Next, Choose the PST file format from the drop-down list.
Note: Choose the file format according to your needs; PST is just one example.

Step 6: Click the Destination button to choose a destination path to save the resulting file, and then click Next.

Step 7: Tick the Remove Duplicate Mail option to remove duplicates based on To, From, Subject, and Body.

Step 8: Select the "Skip Previously Migrated" option to avoid migrating files that have already been transferred.

Step 9: The "Free Up Server Space" option enables you to delete emails from the server after completing the backup.

Step 10: Choose the Migrate Emails without Attachment Files option to exclude email attachments. There is also an option to save attachments in a folder.

Step 11: Tick the Date Filter option to perform a selective conversion process.

Step 12: Choose the Custom Folder Name option to specify a custom folder name for saving the output files.

Step 13: Select the Split Resultant PST File option to save the PST file in smaller PST files.

Step 14: Lastly, click the Start Process button to begin the conversion procedure.
