Step 1: Download the DRS Softech Hotmail Backup Tool and install it on your system.
Step 2: Enter your Hotmail email address. Provide the third-party app password for authentication (app password is recommended for secure login). Click Sign In.
Step 3: Once logged in, the tool will automatically fetch and display all mailbox folders. You can preview folders like Inbox, Sent, Drafts, etc.
Step 4: From the Saving Options drop-down, select the desired format as the PST file format.
Step 5: Skip Duplicate Emails feature ensures that no repeated emails are included in your backup.
Step 6: During the backup process, you can choose the Split PST option from the settings to break down the large PST file into smaller ones.
Step 7: If you prefer to migrate emails without attachments, the tool will only migrate the email body and metadata, leaving out the attached files.
Step 8: After the backup is complete, you can delete the emails from your Hotmail account, with the free up server space option.
Step 9: The Date Filter feature allows you to back up or migrate only the emails received or sent within a specific date range.
Step 10: If you’ve already backed up certain emails or migrated data previously, this feature helps you skip those items to avoid duplicating the process.
Step 11: Lastly, click Save Path and choose a location on your system to save the output files.
Step 12: Click on the Download button. The software will begin downloading and saving your Hotmail mailbox based on your preferences.
