We can look at and
see another person directly. However, we
cannot look at and see ourselves directly.
One must look at a mirror or another reflection in real time to see
oneself. And still because alphanumeric
characters are in reverse as seen through the mirror, we do not actually see
ourselves directly. Likewise with
fingerprints we see a reverse display of the pattern when viewing the
impression on paper. The impression on
paper is not a direct display of the pattern.
A direct display is what is seen by looking directly at the hand itself.
This phenomenon
demonstrates the spectrum of different interpretations when looking at
fingerprints.
In addition, we
must ascertain where an impression resides in frequency according to a given
population as in plus and minus percentages.
The appearance of rare fingerprint patterns of noted individuals is
interesting and important only because we know the history or legacy of the
person. The distinction is more in ability rather than that of behavior. This
is because an individual can change their own mind-set.
A yin and yang fingerprint pattern (clockwise/anticlockwise plain whorl)
reveals one mind-set in juxtaposition to another.
