Being a Mirror,
Holding the World to Account

We do not claim moral superiority, but we do claim responsibility. The role of a monk and of any true practitioner is to become a mirror. A mirror simply shows what is there.

When governments descend into cruelty, we hold up the mirror. When society decides some lives matter more than others, we hold up the mirror. When people numb themselves and call it ‘peace,’ we hold up the mirror.

The world may not like the mirror, but the mirror is necessary.

The Ground of
Peacefulness

When you sit ZAZEN long enough, deeply enough, the world enters you. You realise that your breath and the child in Gaza or Sudan share the same sky. You realise that the violence in Ukraine and the violence in your own heart are not two separate things. You realise that every refugee, every prisoner, every victim of greed is your own body.

Zazen exposes this truth. There is no distance between “your life” and “the world.” And once you see that, peacefulness is not a choice, it is the natural movement of a heart that has woken up.

It is the living movement of LOVE.
How We Act

We refuse to be monks and practitioners who hide behind the robe. We act.

We use PILGRIMAGE as a Way of holding up a mirror to the world.

This is simply Zen.

A Call
To Peacefulness

Our work of Anteiji is simple: to BE LOVE.

We don't shout about it, we just mirror yourself back to you:
THIS WORLD IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
DON’T LOOK AWAY.

This is the peace of Anteiji.
Clear. Fierce. Alive.
