S. Manning is trying to be a good student of these arts. He has a PhD in history and has published academically on medieval material culture although its not the field he was trained in. This site is a mix of commonplace book, scrapbook, and collection of essays on the things people carried and used in western Europe in the later Middle Ages (and an act of protest against the replacement of the open Net with corporate social media).
