Abel's Licensing
We have created a workable license structure that is affordable and easily scalable as your business grows. You can choose a monthly license subscription which includes maintenance, or a one-time license plus annual maintenance.
Software License Payment Options
Two ways to pay:
Monthly Subscription License
An affordable, pay-as-you-go license
Our monthly license option enables you to subscribe to Abel without a large up-front cash outlay and your monthly payments are inclusive of maintenance. You pay the monthly fee beginning on your go-live date.
You can add additional license components as your business grows and your needs change. You can also decrease license components if your needs change.
One-Time License + Annual Maintenance
Higher up-front, lower in the long-term
Our one-time license option gives you a lower cost of licensing over the long term. This option requires a one-time payment for the number of license components you require.
A separate annual maintenance fee is due at each anniversary date. If you require additional license components during your license term, then you will need to pay an additional one-time fee for any additional license components. Your annual maintenance fee will also increase accordingly.
Abel License Structure
Abel’s licensing is designed to be affordable, scalable, and aligned with your business needs. Licenses are based on the number of processes your business runs, allowing you to scale as you grow.
There are essential licenses for core functionality and PC-based users. Additional licenses are available for optional functions such as mobile apps, interfaces, and background processes.
Essential Licenses
This is the minimum license requirements to run Abel:
- Abel Base Kit Provides access to the Abel Database and Application Server. It also runs key background processes such as outbound mail, backups, scheduled reports, and data feeds for Abel BI (Business Intelligence). The Base Kit consumes two licenses.
- Concurrent End Users A shared pool sized to the maximum number of users accessing Abel simultaneously. Abel automatically logs out inactive users, freeing up licenses for others.
Additional Licenses
Optional features that require separate connections to the Abel database need additional licenses:
- Abel Mobile Add-On Required for sites using the Abel Mobile Warehouse or Abel Mobile Sales apps. This license manages mobile user sessions. One license per database (if needed).
- Concurrent Mobile Users A pool of mobile licenses sized to the maximum number of mobile app users accessing Abel simultaneously.
- Interface Add-Ons Interfaces and other functions that connect to the Abel database require extra licenses — typically one or two per interface — to provide dedicated database connections independent of the user license pool. Examples include connections to your website or third-party applications that integrate with Abel.
- Abel Corporate View Add On For sites running multiple connected Abel databases. This license enables data transfer between databases for inter-database trading, enterprise financial management, and seamless user navigation. One license per database (if needed).
- Test and Training Databases Your Abel license also covers additional copies of your live database used for testing, training, or other non-production purposes.
Licensing for Multiple Databases
If you run multiple Abel databases — e.g. for separate companies or different countries — you’ll need a license for each database. Licensing is based on the number of users and the specific requirements of each database.
If your databases are connected for trading or other shared activities, you’ll also need the Abel Corporate View license on each database.
Abel Corporate View
The Corporate View Add-On supports installations with multiple connected Abel databases. It enables:
- Multi-Database Financials Enterprise-level financial management across multiple databases.
- Inter-Database Trading Automated transaction documents between databases.
- Inter-database navigation Seamless switching between connected databases for authorized users.
License Payment Options
We offer two flexible payment options to suit your needs and budget. In both cases, you can increase your licenses one at a time as your business grows.
Payment Options
- Monthly License Enables you to subscribe to Abel on a month-by-month basis, with a predictable monthly cost spread throughout the year. It includes a maintenance component. This is our most popular option, offering a low cost of entry and consistent monthly budgeting.
-
One-Time License + Annual MaintenanceInvolves a one-time payment for the license components you need, plus an annual maintenance fee due on each anniversary. This option offers a lower long-term cost. If you add license components later, an additional one-time fee applies, and your annual maintenance fee will adjust accordingly.
This licensing model ensures you get the most value from your ERP investment — with the flexibility to adapt as your team and operations grow.
