About Us

Black Flag is written, published and distributed on occupied land. We recognise the original custodians of this land and celebrate their long and diverse history prior to the 1770 European Invasion, and condemn European transgressions since. Black Flag extends all due respect to Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander Peoples both past and present.

Black Flag is a new Independent media project by a group of assorted, unaligned anarchists and radicals in the Western Suburbs of Sydney. We are an explicitly anti-capitalist and anti-fascist publication. We stand in Solidarity with all oppressed peoples and will endeavor to give marginalised people within the West and beyond a platform to speak about their struggles.

We exist to critique the Inner-West centric lens that leftist politics in Sydney exists within and to propagate the seeds of radical resistance within the Greater Western Suburbs. Black Flag is published in Blacktown on the land of the Darug People. Our contributors come places and backgrounds as far-flung as and diverse as Greater Western Sydney itself.
