Hello! I know it’s been a bit… I got busy and, well, extremely irritated. I’m still the latter and starting to once again lose sleep. That’s gotta stop soon!
Anyway, I thought I’d put up a post because it looks like tomorrow will be a day that I’m spending with my parents, individually, then together!
I got an email yesterday from the Publisher who said that they would love to see the rest of Haven of Secrets IF I’m open to their suggestions about cutting down the Prologue. This could be my shot into the publishing world BUT… it could come at the cost of creative integrity. My prologue, you see, isn’t exactly what it seems… the prologue is similar in nature to the original newspaper article but it doesn’t give away the whodunit! So I have to think about that. I also need to word a response in that I am always open to suggestions and some special wording about working together to find some common ground.
It’s hard to give up because I’ve done it on my own for almost 19 years. The only other publisher I’ve had published my books as submitted believe it or not and then they ran out of money and nothing went anywhere. So it’s tough to turn over control this way.
Anyone know if that’s a common feeling or just me?
