code of conduct
This Code of Conduct is intended to serve as a resource for members of the WriteHive Discord. By signing on to our discord or participating in any event, you agree to abide by the Code of Conduct. WriteHive has developed this policy to ensure that all participants, staff, and volunteers can engage in an environment free from harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. WriteHive strongly encourages individuals to make every reasonable effort to ensure they are familiar with these policies and are aware that any complaint in violation of such policies will be investigated and resolved appropriately.
The following behaviors will not be tolerated on our discord or during any WH sponsored event.
- Engaging in bribery or favoritism
- Any form of discrimination or harassment
- Sexual harassment includes harassment on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, self-identified or perceived sex, gender expression, gender identity, and the status of being transgender. Sexual harassment includes unwelcome conduct which is either of a sexual nature or which is directed at an individual because of that individual's sex or gender.
- Harassment of any sort includes epithets, slurs or negative stereotyping; threatening, intimidating or hostile acts; denigrating jokes; and written or graphic material that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual or group.
Any individual who has questions or concerns about these policies should speak to a moderator.
- Discrimination Policy: WriteHive will not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any individual's sexual, racial, economic, religious, disability, gender identity, citizenship, national origin, or any other characteristic or identity.
- Individuals Covered: This policy applies to all individuals present on the WriteHive server, interacting with the WriteHive community in any capacity at any event, program, or session sponsored or conducted by WriteHive, including all staff and volunteers.
- Complaint Procedure: WriteHive prohibits any such discrimination or harassment and encourages reporting of all perceived incidents of discrimination or harassment. Any individuals who believe that they have been a the victims of conduct prohibited by this policy or believe they have witnessed such conduct should discuss their concerns with a discord moderator or utilize the Anonymous Report Form found below.
Any reported allegations of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation will be investigated promptly. The investigation may include individual interviews with the parties involved and, where necessary, with individuals who may have observed the alleged conduct or may have other relevant knowledge.
WriteHive will maintain confidentiality throughout the investigatory process to the extent consistent with adequate investigation and appropriate corrective action.
Retaliation against an individual for reporting harassment or discrimination or for participating in an investigation of a claim of harassment or discrimination is a serious violation of this policy, and like harassment or discrimination itself, will be subject to investigation and actions WriteHive believe appropriate.
